This year, Sheldon High School Mass Media students are exploring different types of media and careers in the media industry.

Earlier this month, they visited KELOLAND to gain insight into news broadcasting. Students had the opportunity to see firsthand the behind-the-scenes work that goes into preparing a newscast for television.

Congratulations to Orab Senior Taya Sudbeck on an incredible achievement! On Tuesday, Taya officially broke the Sheldon High School career digs record, reaching an outstanding 1,011 digs over her impressive volleyball career.

She surpassed the previous record of 1,006 digs, set by Alexis Bart during the 2007–2011 seasons — a record that stood for more than a decade.

Congratulations, Taya, on this remarkable milestone and for leaving your mark in Sheldon volleyball history!

The Orabs Super Smash Bros team advanced to a 6-0 season record after their game against Osage today!

They won the first game 12-8 and the second, 14-4. Standout performances were made by Steven Meyer, Weston Smith, Ethan Vogelaar, and Dawsin Merley, who all won battles 3-0.

The Orabs play Estherville-Lincoln-Central next week, who is also 6-0 on the season. This match will decide who wins the Class 2 West Division. GO ORABS!

Today marks the end of the first quarter, and what an amazing start it’s been to the school year! Students, staff, and families have all contributed to a successful beginning filled with hard work, growth, and school spirit. Let’s keep the momentum going—finish strong and continue making Orab Nation proud!

Congratulations to the Sheldon Marching Orabs on their outstanding performances at the Quad State Marching Band Festival in Vermillion this past Saturday! The band brought home several awards, including 2nd Place in Open Class II, Best Color Guard, and Best Percussion.

We also want to recognize and celebrate our seniors on their final performance—thank you for your dedication and leadership!

It's National School Bus Safety Week! This year's theme is "Safe Stops. Stronger Communities," and it focuses on the importance of safety for students in and around school buses. This week, students will take part in bus evacuation drills. Be sure to ask your child what they learned!

Congratulations to Orab senior Taya Sudbeck on reaching an incredible milestone — her 1,000th career dig! Taya achieved this impressive accomplishment during Thursday night’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Central Lyon. Her hard work, consistency, and leadership on the court have made a tremendous impact on the Orab volleyball program. Way to go on this outstanding career highlight!

Congratulations to the Sheldon Esports Team!

The varsity team of Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, advanced to a 4-0 record this season. Their Tuesday contest against Hampton-Dumont-CAL was won 2 games to 0. They won their first game 13-9 and their second game 14-10.

Next week, the Orabs will host Okoboji in person at home, as opposed to the online matches that are typically held.
