IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY

Scholarships - OneApp will open September 20, 2023. Deadlines will vary depending upon the scholarship or opportunity, so students are encouraged to log in to OneApp early and often to ensure deadlines are met. Once submitted, students can still access and revise their applications until the scholarship close date. Scholarship selection committees will use the information available in the system (e.g., data from student records and/or information provided on the General Application, Conditional Application, and any Recommended Opportunities) as of when the committee begins their review of applications.

There will be some university scholarships not using OneApp to award 2024-2025 scholarships. Go to the additional ISU scholarships page to view other scholarships available at Iowa State.

  • College of Engineering - the application period for engineering scholarships is September 19 - February 8, 2024. In order to receive an invitation to apply for scholarships, students must have applied for admission to ISU. 

  • Ag & Life Sciences - September 19 - January 10, 2024 (priority deadline)

  • Business - September 19 - January 8 (priority) February 8- Final Deadline

  • Design - September 19 - January 10, 2024 (Priority deadline)

  • Christina Hixson Opportunity Award (Iowa State University) / February 1, 2024

    The Hixson Opportunity Award is a grant of $20,000 to be used at Iowa State University. One hundred (100) high school seniors from across Iowa (representing each county in the State). If you are a senior who demonstrates potential in ways that go beyond class rankings and test scores, apply now!

    Eligibility for this scholarship includes:

    • You must have faced challenges of personal and/or financial hardship

    • Be a resident of Iowa

    • Possess the potential to succeed

    • Demonstrate financial need as determined by the FAFSA (Complete the FAFSA by February 1)

    • Complete the Iowa State University Admission process by February 1, 2024

    Christina Hixson Opportunity Award

  • Beta Sigma Psi will be awarding three (3) $2,000 scholarships and one (1) $1,000 scholarship to men attending Iowa State University in the Fall of 2021.  You are not required to join Beta Sigma Psi to receive the $2,000 scholarships.  For more detailed information: Beta Sigma Psi Scholarship Apply by February 5 to be eligible for all awards.

To be considered for Merit-based Scholarships, students must apply for admission to the University of Iowa by March 1. ACT scores are optional, but encouraged. You can also update your ACT scores through March 1, to be reconsidered for Merit-based scholarships.

Panther Music Awards are offered to qualified, incoming students who are not music majors but wish to continue singing in college. IOWA PRIVATE COLLEGES

BRIAR CLIFF UNIVERSITY, SIOUX CITY 

To receive scholarships at Briar Cliff, you must fill out a general scholarship application.  You will be awarded academic scholarships based on your performance in high school and ACT/SAT test scores.  

Presidential Scholarship - There are two (2) application deadlines for this scholarship. Applicants must apply by Monday, October 16th, 2023 to be considered for the interview process that will take place on Friday, October 27th, 2023. The spring deadline is Monday, January 15th, 2024 with interviews taking place on Friday, January 26th, 2024.

Required: A 3.75 cumulative high school gpa, answer two essay questions and submit two (2) letters of recommendation. Scholars awarded will receive compensation for the full cost of their Briar Cliff tuition for all four years( maintaining a 3.0 cumulative gpa while in college).

All academic scholarships and awards are based on the student's cumulative gpa, a personal essay, and an educator's reference.  Standardized test scores are not required, but will be considered if submitted. There is no separate application for these awards.  Scholarships are awarded automatically to eligible students upon admission.  Academic scholarships range from $15,000 - $28,000 per year, and are renewable each year for four years.
