The Sheldon High School girls and boys basketball programs were hard at work, packaging up a total of 36 boxes to be shipped overseas to Iowa soldiers. Huge thanks to the teams and our incredible community for making a difference and showing it’s more than basketball. Go Orabs! 🏀🇺🇸

Sheldon High School's Champion Network Shines at State Capitol!
Sheldon Community School District’s mentorship program, the Champion Network, was proudly represented at the Iowa State Capitol’s Day on the Hill event by four Sheldon High School seniors. Bella Michels, Sophie Meyer, Brielle Mouw, and Riley Ball, along with sponsors Bailey Hennings and Heath Anderson headed to Des Moines on January 26 for this exciting opportunity.


During the event, the group shared how the Champion Network supports leadership, connection, and student growth within Sheldon CSD. They spoke with numerous state legislators, as well as Lieutenant Governor Chris Cournoyer and Iowa Department of Education Director McKenzie Snow, highlighting the positive impact mentorship programs have on schools and communities.


The four seniors did a fantastic job representing Sheldon CSD and the Champion Network. Their confidence, professionalism, and enthusiasm reflected positively on the district and showcased the strength of Sheldon’s students on a statewide stage. Way to go Orabs!

Sheldon High School Winter Formal is this Saturday, January 31, at the Crossroads Pavilion, beginning at 8:00 PM! Don’t miss out—we hope to see you there! 🎶💃🕺

Early sign-up tickets are available now through January 30 for $8. After that, tickets will be $10 at the door. Tickets can be purchased in the office.

There will also be a raffle drawing this year! Raffle tickets are $2 at the door, with a chance to win a $50 gift card to Scheels or Target.

2026 Girls State Wrestling T-shirt order forms are now available! Please have your forms turned in by noon on Wednesday, January 27. Return them to Kory or Julie Roos.

Sheldon Community School District will be starting 2 hours late on Friday, January 23 due to inclement weather. There will be no morning preschool, practices, or activities.

Please join us in "remembering everyone deployed" by wearing red at the basketball games on Friday, January 23.
