Kindergarten through 4th Grade students at East Elementary are learning about simple acts of kindness in Mrs. Hennings' Guidance Classes. Students have been talking about how they can make someone's day better by a simple gesture, smile, talking to someone that looks sad, or even sending someone something to brighten their day.
Students are currently working on making holiday cards for the soldiers that are unable to make it home for the holiday season. Their hope is to make them smile and be happy, even if they can't make it home during the holiday season.

Our district had the opportunity to have two student teachers during the first semester of the school year. Ms. Klein was placed in our 4 Year Old Preschool this fall and will transition to one of our 1st Grade classrooms after Christmas. Mr. Ziemen did half of his placement in our 5th Grade Science Class and then transitioned to our 7th and 8th Grade Math classes.
Both have been great additions to their classrooms and have learned so much about teaching and connecting with our students.
We wish them the best in their future careers.

Students in Mrs. T's Science Class have been learning all about rocks this week.
The students participated in a lab where they layered different sediment into bottles to model sedimentary rocks. They also made observations to decide if their rocks were igneous, metamorphic or sedimentary.
It's safe to say Mrs. T's class "ROCKED" this week!

The Sheldon High School Students are getting some real life job training thanks to Rosenboom in Sheldon.
The Manufacturing Class has been working with a group of Rosenboom CI team members. These team members have been working with the students to teach them skills and techniques that they uses in manufacturing daily.
Thank you Rosenboom for this opportunity and experience for our students!

The snow and cold might be sticking around, but it has given our students a lot of fun at recess.
The 4th graders worked together to build a snowman during their recess time! Will this snowman last all winter, or will he melt before Christmas Break?

The staff members at the Middle School are always up for some fun and a challenge. This week they played a day long game of Human Scrabble. Each teacher had a different set of letters that they wore throughout the day. The challenge was that they had to make words with the other staff members as they met them throughout the day!
Prizes were awards to the top point earners.
Our students love to see their teachers and the enthusiasm and competitive edge that comes out in the school day.

Preschool students did a Star Search during their Space Study. Students had to walk around the preschool building and find stars with letters on them.
They then colored that letter on their paper. Students love doing interactive activities where they are both playing and learning at the same time!

The Middle School is lucky to have some amazing staff members that go above and beyond for their students.
The Middle School Custodian, Stephanie Madsen, decorated the lunch and commons area at the middle school for some holiday cheer.
She does so much to bring joy to students!
Thank you Stephanie for your work and dedication to our students!
