East Elementary second graders got into the March Madness spirit with a fun book bracket! Students spent time reading and voting for their favorite stories during their March Book Madness unit.
The exciting culminating activity took at the high school gym. Second graders were led by Sheldon High School girls basketball players through a variety of fun basketball skill activities. A big thank you to the girls basketball team for helping teach basketball fundamentals and making the experience extra special! It was a slam dunk way to celebrate reading and movement! Way to go, Orabs!

Sheldon High School Mass Media students recently took a trip to Dakota News Now in Sioux Falls to learn about careers in news broadcasting.
During their visit, students got a behind-the-scenes look at how a live newsroom operates. They learned about the different roles involved in producing the news, including reporting, anchoring, filming, editing, and directing. Students also had the opportunity to see the studio, ask questions, and gain insight into the skills and education needed for a future in media and communications.
Thank you to Dakota News Now for providing this valuable hands-on learning experience and helping inspire our students as they explore potential career paths!
