East Elementary students had a blast exploring a variety of fun and engaging learning activities!

Staff, students, and community members gathered to honor and celebrate our veterans during a special Veterans Day assembly. The program began with the presentation of colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and a moving performance by the Sheldon High School band, featuring Clint Badberg’s tribute to the branches of the military. Throughout the ceremony, local veterans were recognized and sincerely thanked for their service, dedication, and sacrifice in protecting our freedoms.
Thank you to Braeden Mouw and Sophie Meyer for leading the program, and to our guest speaker, Dr. Ryan Becker, who shared an inspiring message about the importance of service, community, and remembering those who have protected our freedoms. We are also deeply grateful to all the veterans who attended and allowed us the opportunity to express our appreciation in person.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all veterans for their dedication and courage, and to everyone who helped make this meaningful event possible. Your service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Congratulations to Ethan Vogelaar for earning the 3rd-best stock-taken to stocks-given ratio across all classes this regular esports season! Outstanding performance!

Sheldon High School students went on a field trip to Iowa Lakeside Laboratory. On Wednesday, October 29, students explored careers in Ecology, Natural Resources, and Biology on West Lake Okoboji. During their visit, they toured the grounds and the water quality lab, helped collect and redistribute seeds for a prairie restoration project, and gathered and analyzed benthic microorganisms to assess the lake’s overall health.

The deadline to sign up for Large Group Speech is this Wednesday. Encourage your student to get involved—it's a great opportunity to build confidence, teamwork, and public speaking skills!

Join us this weekend for Sheldon High School’s fall play, The Alibis! This entertaining production is filled with mystery, humor, and plenty of surprises as a group of quirky characters each share their “alibi” for a crime that may—or may not—have happened.
Bring your family and friends for an evening of laughter and great performances by our talented students. Don’t miss your chance to support local theater and enjoy a fun night out in the Orab community!

Join us in showing our gratitude and respect for those who have served our country by wearing red, white, and blue next Tuesday, November 11, during our Veterans Day Assembly. This special event is an opportunity for our school community to come together and honor the bravery, sacrifice, and dedication of our nation’s veterans. Let’s fill the gym with patriotic colors

Preschoolers had a blast in dramatic play as they stepped into the role of farmers! They gathered eggs from the “chickens,” dressed up as different animals, and even took turns driving toy tractors. This farm-themed play helped them build teamwork, communication, and imaginative thinking — all while exploring what life is like on the farm!

Chemistry classes recently visited POET Bioprocessing in Ashton, where they learned about the fermentation and distillation processes used to produce ethanol. A big thank-you to the staff at POET-Ashton for providing such an awesome learning experience!

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Barwick! Staff and students had a great time surprising her with “anything but birthday balloons.” A big thank you to Mrs. Seivert for organizing such a fun celebration!

Sheldon Middle School sixth graders have been studying organ systems in science class. After learning about the digestive system, they completed a hands-on project that simulated the entire digestive process. Starting with a “bite” of cracker and banana, students followed the food’s journey through the stomach, into the intestines, and finally through excretion—bringing their learning to life in a memorable and interactive way.

Sheldon High School girls basketball starts this coming Monday, November 10.

Join us tonight at the Sheldon Athletic Booster Club Meeting!
