Sheldon Community School District

The Sheldon High School Art Club visited Sanford Hospital and Senior Care, where they spent half the day spreading holiday cheer by decorating and brightening the windows for the season.

Their creativity and hard work helped bring smiles to residents, patients, and staff throughout the facility. This meaningful experience was a wonderful way for students to give back to the community, and plans are already in place to make this an annual service project in the years ahead.

Breakfast is served Monday through Friday!
Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day, especially for students. If your student doesn't have time to each breakfast at home, they can eat breakfast at school. Eating breakfast can benefit them in many ways throughout the school day. They are able to concentrate better, are more alert, and can have better test scores! Thank you to our wonderful kitchen staff who serve breakfast at each of our buildings.

Sheldon Middle School students learned about magnetism as a property of matter. They tested various materials and learned that not all metals are magnetic.

East Elementary's rooftop visitors wished students a Zoo-tastic Christmas! They brought many smiles and laughter to start the last day before break!

A Sheldon Middle School 5th grade scientist practices finding the mass of the Rubik's Cube with his balance scale.

Sheldon Middle School sixth graders simulated what happens when you sneeze by comparing the spread from sneezing without a tissue versus sneezing into one. They had fun popping balloons, taking measurements, and analyzing the results of their experiment.

Bring your gifts and we’ll wrap them for you! We’ll have wrapping paper and gift boxes available, but you’re welcome to bring your own if you prefer.
1. You will be asked to check in at the table set up by the front door.
2. You will need to fill out a slip with your information on it.
3. Then you leave your presents with us!
4. We’ll keep them safe and have them wrapped by the end of the day!

With the help of custodian and “magic maker” Steph Madsen, Mrs. Cabrera hosted a “Paint Your Own Holiday Cookie” activity for Wellness Wednesday. Students used edible paints and markers to design their cookies, choosing from stencils or creating freehand designs. It was such a sweet and fun-filled morning!

Students in Sheldon Middle School 5th grade science are learning about chemical reactions. In this lab they combined baking soda and vinegar and captured the gas inside the balloon on top their Erlenmeyer flask.

Sheldon Middle School 5th grade students mixed different substances in water to see if they were soluble. This student is mixing a red powder in his water to discover that it is not soluble in water because it doesn't dissolve.
