Second graders had a fun “peep day” this week! They conducted an experiment with peeps in water, soda, and vinegar. They created their own peeps and gave them names and birthdays. They watched how peeps are made and read a story with some fun facts about them. Last, they had to think critically as they solved peep problems!

Sheldon Middle School 6th grade students helped create three life-sized Periodic of Table of Elements. Each student researched an element from the table. They reported on its atomic number, symbol, what it is used for, melting point, who discovered it and how it earned its name. Nineteen students also memorized all 118 element symbols. They celebrated with a "Cyclone Party." A special thanks to Dairy Dandy for helping us out with this reward!

Good luck to Sheldon High School students that will be attending the State Band/Choir Solo/Ensemble Contest on Saturday! It will start roughly at 8:15am and will go until round 4pm at Western Christian High School in Hull. This event is an opportunity for students to perform solos and in small groups. Judges will score them and assign a rating of 1-5, with 1 being "outstanding". There will be vocal and instrumental performances that take place in 7 minute blocks throughout the day. Some students are doing both and have several different performances.
