East Elementary 3rd graders in 3B, engaged in a cross curricular activity of Adopt a Puppy, when not working on ISASP (state) testing. Each student picked, named, and owned a stuffed pup. The week-long theme had many different activities, from writing a news article, reading about their dog breed, math activities of buying supplies and making a schedule for the puppy. In addition, the students created a bed or bedroom for each little furry friend. The week culminated with the students bringing their pup home to keep as their very own!

Second graders had a fun “peep day” this week! They conducted an experiment with peeps in water, soda, and vinegar. They created their own peeps and gave them names and birthdays. They watched how peeps are made and read a story with some fun facts about them. Last, they had to think critically as they solved peep problems!
