Today marks the end of the first quarter, and what an amazing start it’s been to the school year! Students, staff, and families have all contributed to a successful beginning filled with hard work, growth, and school spirit. Sheldon Middle School students had a great time working on a creative paper mâché art project as part of their leadership class. This hands-on activity encouraged teamwork, patience, and creativity as students designed and built their unique pieces.








Congratulations to the Sheldon Marching Orabs on their outstanding performances at the Quad State Marching Band Festival in Vermillion this past Saturday! The band brought home several awards, including 2nd Place in Open Class II, Best Color Guard, and Best Percussion.

It's National School Bus Safety Week! This year's theme is "Safe Stops. Stronger Communities," and it focuses on the importance of safety for students in and around school buses. This week, students will take part in bus evacuation drills. Be sure to ask your child what they learned!

Fresh Fruit & Vegetable Program at East!
East Elementary has received a grant that allows students to try a new fruit or vegetable twice a week! This exciting program gives children the chance to explore new foods and build healthy eating habits throughout the entire school year.
Some of the snacks will include carrots, snap peas, broccoli, grapes, apples, jicama, kiwi, cantaloupe, and much more. Be sure to ask your student what they enjoyed for their snack every Monday and Friday!

Congratulations to Orab senior Taya Sudbeck on reaching an incredible milestone — her 1,000th career dig! Taya achieved this impressive accomplishment during Thursday night’s thrilling 3-2 victory over Central Lyon. Her hard work, consistency, and leadership on the court have made a tremendous impact on the Orab volleyball program. Way to go on this outstanding career highlight!

Sheldon Middle School 7th and 8th graders had a fantastic time enjoying the great outdoors during a special P.E. activity featuring canoeing and kayaking. Students learned paddling techniques, teamwork, and water safety while exploring the calm waters. The day was filled with excitement, laughter, and a spirit of adventur

The varsity team of Super Smash Bros: Ultimate, advanced to a 4-0 record this season. Their Tuesday contest against Hampton-Dumont-CAL was won 2 games to 0. They won their first game 13-9 and their second game 14-10.
Next week, the Orabs will host Okoboji in person at home, as opposed to the online matches that are typically held.
