Today marked an incredible start to the new school year as we welcomed back our entire district staff for the first day of professional development. The day started with getting back together with the staff catching up with each other and a breakfast prepared by our amazing lunchroom staff. Our special guest speaker, V.J Smith, graced us with his humor and inspirational words, emphasizing the incredible impact of doing the little things that can truly make a difference in the lives of our students and those around us. Staff then enjoyed a great lunch from Pizza Ranch before meeting with their teams to get ready for the 2023-2024 school year. Teachers from the Sheldon Community School District kicked off their back to school preparation with the Improving Your Practice Literacy Conference today. Sheldon teachers were able to attend a variety of sessions throughout the day to learn how they can work to improve their instruction of literacy in their different content areas. Sheldon High School Freshman Orientation is happening this week at Sheldon High School. If you are an incoming freshman, be sure to attend orientation on Wednesday or Thursday this week at 2:00 PM. Middle School Practice Information! Middle School Practice start dates and times are listed below for the first week of practice. Please note, we will begin with football only on August 21st so we can get the state mandated # of practices in before our first MS football game. MS volleyball/XC do not have these same requirements. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Maassen or the MS office.
