Do you know how to calculate the density of a liquid? (Density = mass/volume)
The sixth grade science students first learned how to find the mass of a liquid so they then could calculate the density of the liquid. After all calculations were complete, they poured the liquids into a beaker and checked to see if the way the liquids layered matched their calculations.
They did! Excellent calculations!

The sixth grade students were given four mystery liquids and had to test the chemical property of flammability. They dipped strips of paper into each of the four mystery liquids and then held the strip of paper over an open flame. As you can see in the pictures, they were surprised to find that one of the liquids was flammable!!!!

2nd graders are working on their throwing accuracy in PE with a game called, Monster Ball.
On the command students attempt to throw the small balls at the Monster Ball in order to make it move. Their goal is to try and get the Monster ball to cross the line on the opposing team’s side of the line. If the Monster Ball rolls outside of the designated area – the opposing team’s side will receive one point.
Our students have had such a fun time working on their throwing skills with this upbeat and intense game!

6th graders explored the densities of water and cooking oil.
They measured predetermined volumes of each liquid, poured them into jars, made observations, shook them for two minutes and then let them settle for ten minutes to see if the liquids would separate back into two layers.

Spanish II students have been studying Spanish terminology for different directional words and places found in a city. To practice these terms, students created a city map in Spanish and then wrote directions in Spanish on how to get from one place to another. Students then tested their Spanish speaking and listening skills and directed their classmates around their city map.
