· East Elementary is seeking several Special Education Paraeducators for the 2023-24 school year. These positions will be 6.5 hours per day with a 180 day contract. Starting wage is $14.50/hour, IPERS, and health insurance is available.

Wade A Den Hartog is a graduate from the class of 1992 and is currently living in West Des Moines and working as a Financial Advisor. Wade mentioned that, "My SCS experience was one that encouraged leadership, values and pride in our community and school. I appreciated the dedication of the teachers and staff to challenge students to be the best that we could be. The relatively small class sizes allowed us to work together and also explore our individual passions and interests. There are many memories and experiences that I look back on with pride and also learning moments. Today, I can't imagine growing up anywhere else and I appreciate the moments at SCS."

The Sheldon High School FFA 2023-2024 Officer Team headed to the Northwest District COLT Leadership Conference at Dordt University this week. Members attended workshops to learn how to grow as a leader and officer for the chapter and learn to work as a team for the upcoming year.

The Sheldon Community Schools will once again be serving our summer meals. These meals are free to children 18 years of age and younger; parents are also welcome to attend. This year we will be serving meals at East Elementary (use the north door - look for signs to be posted) and meals will be eaten on site. We will be serving Monday-Friday from 11:30am-12:45pm beginning May 30-August 5. Busing will be available at intown bus stops.
