In honor of National School Nurse Day, we proudly recognize and celebrate Sheldon Community School District’s very own nurse Savannah Sauer.

Nurse Sauer plays a vital role in keeping our students healthy, safe, and ready to learn each day. From caring for everyday bumps and scrapes to supporting students with ongoing medical needs, she brings compassion, calmness, and expertise to every situation. Her kindness and dedication help create a school environment where students feel cared for and supported.

We are truly grateful for her hard work, her quick response in moments of need, and the way she goes above and beyond to look out for the well-being of our students and staff. Thank you, Nurse Sauer, for all you do for Sheldon Community School District—you make a difference every single day!

Stay fueled and ready for summer fun with FREE summer lunch! ☀️🍎

The Sheldon Community School District Summer Lunch Program will be available Monday through Friday at East Elementary. This program helps ensure all children have access to a nutritious meal during the summer months in a safe and welcoming environment.

This program is free for children 18 and under and parents are welcome to join. It runs Monday-Friday from 11:30am-12:45pm. Bus pick up is available.

As the school year comes to a close, we proudly celebrate our Sheldon Orab seniors and all they have accomplished. Graduation is just around the corner, and we couldn’t be more excited to honor this outstanding group of students.

Their dedication has helped capture the stories, achievements, and memories that make this class so special.

Get ready to serve up some fun at the Sheldon Orab Youth Volleyball Camp! 🏐

This camp is open to students in 5th–8th grades (26-27 school year) and is a great opportunity to build skills, learn the game, and grow as a player. Campers will focus on fundamentals like passing, setting, hitting, and serving, along with game play and team-building activities.

Congratulations to Logan Van Meeteren, Sheldon Middle School's planner cover design winner! Logan’s creative and eye-catching design was selected from a talented group of submissions and will be proudly featured on the school planner cover for the 2026–27 school year. We’re excited for students and staff to see his work showcased all year long—great job, Logan!

The Sheldon Middle School Cultural Fair will take place tonight at 7 p.m. at the middle school. Students will be showcasing projects, displays, and presentations that highlight cultures from around the world. Come out to support their hard work and enjoy an evening of learning, creativity, and community!

Sheldon High School 5th Period Building & Trades students have been hard at work, constructing a storage shed from start to finish. Way to go Orabs!

Teacher Appreciation Week is a special time to recognize the dedication, passion, and care our teachers bring to our classrooms each day. They do so much more than teach—they inspire, support, and guide our students to grow and succeed.

Three Sheldon Middle School students were honored with attending the National History Day State Competition in Ames on Monday. They earned their spot by qualifying at the district competition back in March. Way to go Orabs!

Today we celebrate National School Lunch Hero Day 2026!
Our lunch heroes do so much more than prepare and serve meals—they help nourish growing minds and bodies, create welcoming spaces in the cafeteria, support students throughout the school day, and ensure that everyone has access to healthy, balanced meals. Their care, patience, and behind-the-scenes effort make a real difference in our schools every day.

Sheldon High School students had a magical evening at the 2026 Prom, celebrating under a beautiful Starry Night theme. The night was filled with laughter, dancing, and unforgettable memories as students enjoyed a truly special experience with friends. From the dazzling decorations to the joyful atmosphere, it was a night that perfectly captured the spirit and excitement of this milestone event.
