The 2nd grade students have spent the last two weeks participating in March Book Madness! 8 books were selected from the top checked out picture books from the East Elementary Library. The students then read each of those books and voted on what book should move on to be this year's favorite book. Students also got to travel to the High School and participate in some basketball activities with some of the High School Basketball players! Spring Pre-Registration for Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten is NOW OPEN! Online registration window open is open through April 1, 2023 (notes were sent home on the correct steps to register online) Little Orabs Preschool – return the bottom of the form to classroom teacher (no online pre-registration is needed, you will register in August) If your child attends Noah’s Ark, His Little Ones, Kingdom Kids or Headstart a packet has been sent home with instructions and information on online registration. We are planning a fun family event that is filled with fun, games, and activities. This is a time for East students and parents to connect and experience all the great things happening in our building! The festivities will begin with a grill out meal from 5:00-5:50 in the East Elementary lunchroom. After the meal, there will be two - 20 minute sessions provided by East Elementary teachers. We are looking for snack donations for the snack break between tests. If you are willing to donate snacks to the school for this, please have them at East Elementary by April 1. Friday afternoon was such a fun end to our week at East Elementary! 2nd-4th graders competed in a St. Patrick's Day themed Minute to Win It activities, while TK-1st grade participated in a St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt around the school. Mrs. Fox's life skills cooking class made a delicious treat to enjoy together. Each week the students pick out a something to make. Students follow a visual recipe and work together to make something to enjoy. Kindergarten students have been practicing reading, writing, and completing their CVC words. This student is using Seesaw to practice building CVC words on her own. Seesaw is used in many of our classrooms to help individualize our student's learning, as well as provide quick feedback for our students, parents, and teachers.
