Today the 8th graders attended Career Day hosted by Northwest Iowa Community College. Students enjoyed hands on activities to learn more about some of the different career options available in our area. Thanks to NCC for putting on this event, as well as all of the different businesses, industries, and individuals who taught our students about these different careers.

Middle School students in computer science class are working on designing an app of their choice. Students had to come up with an app idea, reasons why the app would be useful, as well as what features the app would have. Students then will be sharing their app idea in a presentation for the rest of the class to learn more about it.

The 6th graders did an amazing job with their Night of the Notables presentations!
6th graders researched a famous person from the past and presented the information to those that attended the Night of the Notables. People could stop by a notable person, played by the 6th grader, where they would then share information about their life.

Night of the Notables will be Tuesday, April 11 from 7-8 PM at the Middle School.
Night of the Notables is an event where the 6th grade students share their presentations on notable people in history. This is also a fundraising event, as people give them a quarter, students will then share their presentation. This money goes to help fund the 6th grade field trip.
The students are excited to share their presentations with the public tomorrow night.

8th grade is beginning a new unit, which means new vocabulary words.
To learn the new words and definitions, the students made notecards, practiced independently, and then challenged friends to a matching game.
As a final challenge, they played a friendly game of "Vocabulary Spoons".

The 6th grade students just finished their unit on "Overcoming Obstacles" and have started their "Number the Stars" unit. To tie the two themes together, the students are creating podcasts that will share information about people from WWII who overcame obstacles to help in the Resistance.
Our students are off to a great start and we can't wait to listen to this project once they are done!

Our Sheldon Middle School students are looking for donations of juice to help in their Juice Drive. The juice will then be donated to Love Inc. in Sheldon.
Each TA is competing to see who can bring the most juice! A fun prize will be given to the TA who has the most juice donated.
Donations must be nonrefrigerated and at the Middle School by Friday, March 24
