At the beginning of the year, 4th graders read the book, "The Richest Man in Town" by V.J. Smith in writing class. After finishing the book, students wrote letters to V.J. Smith expressing gratitude for his story and asked him questions about the book. This week all 4th graders received a personalized letter handwritten by V.J. Smith himself answering their questions! Thank you V.J. so much for taking time out of your busy schedule to write to our students! #LeadOn #orabs #sheldonorabs #thankyou #elementary

Monster Creation Time Sheldon High School's Family Consumer Science class is working on a felt monster project with the Kindergartners at East Elementary. High School students read a story to the Kindergarteners about monsters and then had the kindergarteners set out to draw their own monsters. Once the monster was drawn, the high school students took the drawing and are currently working on turning it into a felt monster for their sewing unit. Stay tuned to see how these monsters turn out! *image created by Sheldon High School Mass Media Student, Carlie Westra** #LeadOn #orabs #sheldonorabs #feltmonsters #sewing #sheldon #orabs

Sheldon’s East Elementary School will be having a celebration in honor of being named a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. In an attempt to celebrate this prestigious recognition with our community, we will have a “Bus Parade” on Friday, October 6 at 1:30 p.m. We will fill eleven school buses with students and staff, and travel along the parade route shown below.
